Sue O’Sullivan is the General Manager, Social Policy and Advocacy, bringing broad experience across government, and the tertiary, community, and private sectors. She leads AASW’s policy and advocacy agenda, working to influence decision-makers, strengthen the social work profession, amplify member voices, and deliver strategic outcomes aligned with the AASW’s priorities.

Sue is focused on strengthening the professional standing of social workers and increasing public understanding of their vital role, making their contributions more visible and valued. She works closely with members, government, non-profit organisations and communities to support social workers to deliver high-quality, and impactful services. Through her work, Sue demonstrates her commitment to the values of social justice, human rights, equity, integrity, and evidence-based leadership, ensuring the AASW’s advocacy reflects the profession’s ethics and the needs of communities.
