EMDR Level 1 Training offered in partnership with EMDR Academy Australia.

$297.00 is a deposit only. The full cost is $990.00 (including GST).

In Person Learning Program

2 days of In person training in Melbourne, will take place on 2 & 3 October 2025 (8.45am-5.00pm), with approximately 8 hours of pre-work to be completed before the live practicum.

A link to the pre-workshop modules will be sent by EMDR Academy 3 weeks before the Iive practicum. For reasons of safety, these on-demand modules are compulsory and must be completed 48 hours before the live practicum. A failure to complete on time may result in cancellation of enrolment without refund. Please read all instructions thoroughly.

To complete Level 1 training, 5 hours of consultation must be completed after the live practicum. You will be able to book and pay for this individually with EMDR Academy or another provider of your choice. Level 1 EMDR training will enable you to use the therapy with clients in your own practice.

Pre-requisite Criteria for Level 1 Training

An approved social work degree, membership of AASW, and 2 years of experience providing mental health counselling.

Please note: This clinical training is both rewarding and demanding. The pre-workshop modules involve detailed lectures and reflections. The live practicum requires participants to give and receive EMDR on real life events. It is important that you have the emotional energy and time to commit to the training. If not, consider doing the course when you feel better equipped.

EMDR is a Focussed Psychological Strategy (FPS) service and is claimable with Medicare if you have a Medicare provider number. Completion of Level 1 Training will also enable you to join EMDRAA as an Associate member.

Required Text

Shapiro, F. (2018) Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy: Basic Principles, Protocols, and Procedures 3rd Edition, Guilford Press: New York.

Participants must have access to a copy of the required text prior to commencing the program.

Payment

A 30% deposit of $297.00 to be paid at pre-registration. Please note that the deposit payment is non-refundable. The remaining payment of $693.00 should be made via the EMDR Academy Australia website ASAP to secure your place.

Full payments not received by 20 August 2025 may have their pre-registration postponed or cancelled.
