Join the SA Christians in Social Work Networking Group for an evening of connection, discussion and learning as we explore Christian spirituality in dementia care, with guest speaker Mick Udompol.
The SA Christians in Social Work Networking Group invites you to an evening of networking, conversation and learning on the topic Christian spirituality in dementia care.
Guest speaker Mick Udompol is a Pastoral Care Coordinator at HammondCare in Daw Park and is currently completing a Master of Divinity at Tabor College. Mick has experience in pastoral ministry, aged care and community services, and is passionate about the connection between faith, care and everyday practice.
This session will explore how we can understand dementia through a Christian lens and consider how to hold faith, hope and compassion in the midst of decline and vulnerability. Mick will share practical and pastoral approaches to supporting people living with dementia and their families, including the importance of presence, spiritual care and inclusive worship.
There will be time for discussion, questions and connecting with other social workers of Christian faith.
