This 6 hour training workshop is for Supervisors who would like some practical tools and ideas on how to use Strengths-Based practice to bring ethics alive in their supervision sessions

The workshop considers Strengths-Based theory and how it can be applied to supervision of staff and students. It offers the opportunity for participants to identify from a range of tools, a style that supports the discussion of ethics in a practical way to support staff and students to imbed the ethics within their practice in a fun and innovative way.

Outcomes:

• The ability to identify how strengths-based practice is relevant to supervision

• How to build skills in using strengths-based tools within supervision

• How to use the strengths-based tools to encourage active discussion regarding ethics in supervision

• How to feel comfortable supporting other professionals to use strengths- based tools in their own supervision and therefore building skill in using them in practice.

Presenter details

Jennie Charlton

Jennie qualified as a Social Worker 15 years ago and in her final placement was introduced to strengths based supervision in one to one and group supervision. Jennie has supervised Social Work students for 13 years and commenced supervising staff 6 years ago and has continued to bring strength based practice and tools to supervision. Jennie has identified over the years that an area that practitioners and supervisors alike struggle with is keeping ethics as a key agenda in supervision and so has developed ways of using tools to support this.
