Join us to celebrate World Social Work Day for a Perth Info-Networking Breakfast Event celebrating the 2026 theme Co‑Building Hope & Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society
Start your morning with meaning! Join the AASW WA Branch for a vibrant World Social Work Day Info‑Networking Breakfast, bringing together practitioners, students, leaders, and allies to celebrate the power of unity, collaboration, and community.
This year’s global theme Co‑Building Hope & Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society invites us to uplift one another, share our strengths, and work collectively toward greater social cohesion. Harambee, a Swahili principle meaning “all pull together,” beautifully reflects the spirit of social work and the transformative impact we create when we act as one.
Join us as we hear from guest presenter Michelle Moriarty. Michelle is a grief expert and educator, and founder of Grief Connect. In addition to being a Finalist of 2025’s Social Worker of the Year, Michelle also won the Women in Regional Business Award in 2024, and the AgriFutures WA Rural Women’s Award in 2023.
Situated in the South West of WA, she is dedicated to supporting those who are navigating the challenging journey of grief across the entirety of Australia.
Drawing from her professional and personal experiences, Michelle will this morning share her reflection on the WSWD theme of Hope and Harmony within the context of grief settings.
Come along, bring your curiosity and your voice, and help us co‑build a future grounded in hope, harmony, and shared purpose.
