If you've ever wondered what research has to do with your social work, come and join ECU, Curtin, and UWA researchers for some delicious food on World Social Work Day. Research is an area of social work practice that is sometimes marginalised. Indeed at the trauma-informed symposium, the research stream was the least attended and at the end of the day a group gathered together and wondered why.
At our World Social Work Day event on the 19th March (sponsored by Wanslea Family Services) we're putting the spotlight on research in social work. This half-day promises to be a vibrant mix of short, fast presentations combined with fuller explorations of research in action. There will also be a panel of social workers who cannot imagine "being" social worker without research.
