Susan Penn-Turrall holds a Doctorate in Social Work.  She is an accredited mental health social worker.  She currently works in the Australian Public Services.  She also runs her own counselling practice based in Canberra, providing sexual assault trauma response. Sue is an active contributor to the social work profession and is passionate about ensuring the professional organisation advocates for and advances social workers in Australia.  She is focused on creating transparency, equity, governance and integrity into the AASW and creating a professional body that social workers can be proud of – one that directly reflects the values and principles of social work.

She currently serves as Branch President of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) ACT Branch, supporting local engagement and professional leadership and driving practical and applied organisational change to deliver tangible benefits to members of the AASW.  Sue is also a solicitor and barrister admitted to the ACT Supreme Court.
