Louise Butler

Louise is a senior social work manager with more than 35 years’ experience across disability, regulation and higher education. She also worked in the United Kingdom as a registered social worker for five years.
Louise has held senior roles in disability services with the South Australian Government and was the inaugural Director of Behaviour Support in South Australia for the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission, where she helped establish new regulatory frameworks to support and protect people with disability. She has also taught social work at the University of South Australia and Flinders University and worked as a private consultant.
Prior to joining the AASW, Louise was Senior Policy Adviser with the Social Worker Registration Board of South Australia, contributing to its establishment and supporting the profession through a significant period of change.
Throughout her career, Louise has always, first and foremost, proudly identified as a social worker.
