Come and join the Grampians Region Social Work Practice Group and social workers in the region to hear from Christine Craik, AASW National President.

Christine Craik has been a Social Worker for over 30 years, and has worked in a variety of roles from housing through to trauma debriefing. Most of her work has been working in crisis situations, with women and children dealing with family violence and/or child sexual abuse, in both community and hospital settings, and practice, policy and Management levels. Christine currently lectures in the Social Work undergraduate and postgraduate programs at RMIT University, where she had developed and teaches the ‘Working with Violence and Abuse’ subject. Christine is currently the National President of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and has been on the Board of the AASW since 2011.
Christine is currently completing her PhD focusing on the extent, models and impacts of routine screening with women for domestic violence in emergency department of Australian public hospitals.

Who can attend?
This practice group has been developed to provide support for social workers in the Grampians region to network and create a space for professional support and development. All social workers and social work students are invited to attend.
Open to both members and non-members of the AASW.
