The New South Wales Branch, with over 3,500 members, is supported by a voluntary Branch Management Committee elected by the Branch membership.
The Branch’s key role is to provide local support for AASW members through a range of activities that enable members to network, develop practice skills and organise around social justice issues. The Branch Management Committee provides the conduit for communications between members in NSW.
Social Work in Brain Injury Practice Group Networking Event

Join the NSW AASW Social Work in Brain Injury practice group, who are hosting the 2023 networking event to explore the latest clinical research, interventions and best practice for social work in Brain Injury. This event has a range of presenters addressing a number of topics. We are excited to announce we will have Grahame Simpson, Associate Professor as our key not speaker. In addition to Grahame presenting we have a range of networking events planned and short (15-30 minute) clinical practice presentations addressing key areas of social work practice across all areas of brain injury rehabilitation. This event is suitable for other allied health with an interest in the psychosocial impact of brain injury.

Annual Members Meeting

World Social Work Day 2023

Thank you to our NSW branch members who came together in person and online on #WorldSocialWorkDay2023 to celebrate the social work profession and promote the vital work of social workers globally. Events were run in Bathurst, Northern Rivers and Sydney to mark the day.
