Capability Levels: Emerging; Evolving
Australia has an ageing population with one in six people now aged over 65 years, and this figure is rising steadily due to decreased fertility and increased life expectancy. Whilst ageing is a normal life process, age related issues can appear at any time during adulthood and may impact our health, mental health and wellbeing.
This webinar will introduce participants to the features of common age-related issues, and the services and supports available to assist with life transitions as well as facilitating best practice support and services for individuals and their family and carers, when they experience life transitions associated with ageing.
Who should register?
Attendees may be new and emerging social workers working with older people, or family and carers. Those further along in their careers may be considering a social work role in an aged-related setting, or work with older clients, and want to be prepared for this type of work and understand the services and systems available.
