EMDR is a therapy designed to assist those suffering trauma and has been endorsed by the World Health Organisation as an effective treatment for children and adults.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement and Desensitisation Reprocessing, a reference to the technique that incorporates eye movements to activate processing of traumatic memories.
First developed more than 25 years ago for use in single incident trauma, EMDR therapy is now successfully used around the world to help people from diverse cultures, and in a variety of circumstances, recover from the effects of trauma.
This introductory webinar recording provides participants with an overview of the therapy to better inform their decision to commence level 1 training as an EMDR Practitioner (FPS under Medicare).
"This would most definitely have to be the best AASW CPD activity that I have ever attended... The presentation length was excellent and the use of real world examples was fantastic! The presenter was clearly very knowledgeable in her field of expertise and her knowledge was infectious... " – webinar participant, June 2021.
