Capability Levels: Evolving
Trauma affects individuals across all sectors of Australian society. As Social Workers, we encounter clients with trauma histories in various settings, from healthcare and schools to community organisations and private practice. This webinar will equip you with practical, evidence-based psychotherapeutic interventions that can be applied across diverse service settings to support clients experiencing trauma symptoms, with a focus on cultural responsiveness and appropriateness in the Australian context.
By enhancing your skills in culturally responsive, trauma-informed care, you'll be better prepared to address the complex needs of trauma survivors from various backgrounds, promote healing, and prevent re-traumatisation - regardless of your primary practice focus. This knowledge will improve your clinical practice and contribute to better outcomes for your clients and the communities you serve.
This webinar will cover key trauma-informed psychotherapeutic interventions that can be integrated into various social work roles and settings. We will explore how to assess trauma symptoms through a culturally responsive lens, choose appropriate interventions, and adapt techniques for diverse client populations and service contexts. You will learn to apply these interventions effectively and culturally responsively in your practice.
Who should register?
This webinar is designed for evolving Social Workers who are looking to enhance their culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice skills in the Australian context. It is suitable for practitioners working in various settings, including mental health clinics, hospitals, schools, community organisations, and private practice. While participants should have a basic understanding of trauma and its effects, this webinar will provide intermediate-level content to enhance and expand your existing skills.
