This learning experience is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex landscape of boundary setting with those providing care to others and those who work with others.

The training is designed as a whole of organisational approach to understanding trauma-informed and person-centred practices and explorations into boundary setting and reflective practice. Threaded throughout the training is the important connection to positive outcomes for clients and professional growth for staff.

This course will improve your capacity to:

• critically reflect on the connection between professional boundaries, rapport-building, and positive client outcomes across the organisation
• apply trauma-informed approaches and reflective practice through the use of boundaries
• analyse workplace experiences to determine appropriate boundary setting strategies for continuous improvement
• evaluate your own boundary setting practices and develop strategies for continuous improvement.

The training is divided into several modules, each addressing important aspects of trauma-informed care, the significance of establishing healthy boundaries in supporting clients, the use of reflective practice as part of continuous improvement and growing self-awareness, and the application of trauma-informed approaches in caregiving contexts.

Learners will be empowered to create safe, supportive environments for clients and colleagues as we navigate challenges in boundary setting and apply reflective and trauma-informed principles.

We will:

• Explore the diverse impact of trauma and recognise the benefits of adopting a trauma-informed approach as foundational across the organisation.
• Deep dive into the significance of boundaries in supporting clients. This involves exploring the role of boundaries in shaping professional identity, the importance of boundaries in our relationships with colleagues, and recognising our strengths across different teams through a client journey activity.
• Apply a reflective practice mindset to boundary-setting practice and build capacity for continuous improvement and ongoing learning.
