The Victorian Mental Health Social Work Practice Group is proud to host the:

Victorian Mental Health Social Work Conference 2018

'The Unique Contribution of Social Workers to Mental Health Practice'

VMHSW is pleased to announce the annual Victorian Mental Health Social Work Conference 2018 on the theme of 'The Unique Contribution of Social Work to Mental Health Practice'. Building on the success and lessons learned from last year’s theme 'New and Emerging Areas in Mental Health Social Work' and featuring two great keynote speakers, three in-depth concurrent workshops, ‘Ignite Sessions’ and plenty of opportunities for networking, we welcome social workers be they students, new graduates or experienced professionals, to this exciting and fully catered event.

This year the conference will be held on Wednesday 10 October - World Mental Health Day and will be held at the fabulous Woodward Centre at the University of Melbourne.

Presenters will address a diverse range of topics including:

  • Elder Abuse & Carer Impact;
  • Reclaiming Lives from Sexual Violence;
  • The Case Against Involuntary Mental Health Treatment; and
  • Narrative Therapy/ Tree of Life.

The day will be practical and provide opportunity for robust discussion.

We aim to provide a stimulating range of activities for the day at an affordable price and a unique opportunity for all social workers working in mental health to have exposure to a range of practice issues and to collaborate, share and learn.

Register early to secure you place and your choice of workshop!
