The National Eating Disorders Collaboration (NEDC) is an initiative of the Australian Department of Health and is a collaboration of people and organisations with an interest or expertise in eating disorders. Their purpose is to develop a nationally consistent, evidence-based approach to the prevention and management of eating disorders in Australia. Join us to hear more about this topic.
- Recognise signs and symptoms of different types of eating disorders, including tackling common misconceptions
- Know when and how to use common screening and assessment tools
- Describe evidence-based treatment and management options in a multi-disciplinary context
- Support and work effectively with someone with an eating disorder and their family and carers
- Describe the building blocks of recovery and apply these in Social Work practice
- Know the key referral pathways and relevant eating disorders support services
AASW Melbourne Office

The AASW office is close to Flemington Road and near the Royal Women's and Royal Melbourne Hospitals.
Please note: Travel via public transport is recommended. The office is close to the CBD and a short walk from the Haymarket Walk/Elizabeth Street tram stop (trams 19 & 59) and the Grattan Street tram stop (trams 55 & 59). Parking in the area is generally on-street, metered parking and is limited. There are limited 2 hour free street parking spaces near-by in Courtney Street or metered 4 hour parking in Blackwood Street, Howard Street and surrounds.
The Blackwood St Car Park (located on the ground level the AASW is located in) is currently offering a $9 flat rate per day per exit between 7:30am to 7:30pm. You must book online prior to arrival so you can be issued a pin number to enter and exit the car park. Visit Blackwood St Car Park.

There are facilities available outside the building to lock bikes.
