Tammy Franks MLC introduced the Social Workers Registration Bill 2021 for a second reading on Wednesday 27 October 2021. The first reading was done in 2018. There has been a joint committee and consultation in between. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuL2nbsXa8k&t=8s
Debated in SA Parliament on 17 November 2021 - and passed in the Upper House
On Wednesday, 17 November 2021 Greens MLC Tammy Franks passed the Social Work Registration Bill in the upper house.
SA Social Worker Registration Bill passed in the Lower House on 30 November 2021
The Social Workers Registration Bill 2021 passed South Australia’s lower house, late Tuesday 30 November.
SA Social Worker Registration Bill passed again in the Upper House on 1 December 2021
It went to the upper house on 1 December for final approval, and will come into effect after it is given Royal Assent by the Governor of South Australia, Her Excellency the Honourable Frances Adamson AC.
