Client feedback is essential in therapeutic practice, significantly enhancing the quality of care and strengthening the therapeutic alliance. By actively seeking and incorporating feedback, Social Workers can tailor interventions to better meet individual needs, ensuring that their clinical work remains relevant and effective. This dialogue allows Social Workers to understand clients' experiences, address any discomfort, and make necessary adjustments to their approach, leading to more personalised and impactful therapeutic work. Feedback fosters a collaborative relationship between social workers and clients, promoting trust and mutual respect. When clients feel heard and see that their feedback leads to changes, their engagement and commitment to therapeutic work often increase. This partnership not only improves the therapeutic process but also contributes to better outcomes. Research shows that clinical work guided by client feedback tends to be more effective, as it helps identify patterns in client progress and allows for evidence-based adjustments.

This webinar will explore the crucial insights offered by common factors and client outcome literature around the relationship between client feedback and clinical effectiveness, as well as exploring practical and targeted strategies for eliciting and utilising client feedback on an ongoing basis within clinical work. You will be invited to reflect on your own current approach to seeking and using client feedback, and to explore these practices in application to case material.
